How to use this timeline

The demo changed rapidly during October 2026. When a guide or video contradicts your game, compare its recording date with the relevant update before assuming the player is doing something wrong. A clip can accurately show an older build and still be poor advice for the current one.

The entries below summarize official announcements available when this guide was checked on November 1. They are not a claim that we installed and tested each build. Fixes are reported as developer statements, and later unresolved problems should still be documented separately.

October 14: Demo 0.1.4

The first repair announcement concentrated on the room list, onboarding, localization and several disruptive problems. Reported fixes included loading freezes, classroom furniture failing to appear, custom keybinding failures and matches not ending after every student was caught.

For a returning player, this is the first useful cutoff when judging early launch impressions. A complaint about the initial room list or a broken custom binding may describe a bug addressed in this update, rather than a permanent feature of the game.

October 16 and 17: friends and joining

Demo 0.1.6 added Steam-friend invitations through the in-game phone and elevator-availability notifications. It also addressed voice-chat problems and several multiplayer issues. Rescue time and special-item frequency were adjusted.

Demo 0.1.7 followed with more connection work and room logic allowing new players to enter after rounds finish. NPC behavior became more deceptive, and balloons gained a documented scoring interaction when they hit the teacher.

These two updates matter when a group is following old invitation advice, expecting immediate mid-round participation, or comparing older item-heavy sessions with a later match.

October 19: Demo 0.1.9

The October 19 notes made several rules responsive to student count: mischief requirements, teacher stamina recovery conditions and item-spawn probabilities. They also addressed public-room loading issues, lobby closing with Escape and invalid zero-of-six room entries.

This is why a balance claim should include lobby population. A result observed in one group size cannot automatically be generalized to every session. Escape is mentioned here as part of a specific lobby fix, not a complete control reference for the game.

October 21: movement and classroom changes

The next gameplay update introduced crawling between furniture, openable classroom back doors and an office lunch detail. Teacher captures were described as granting extra stamina. Layout, lighting, sound and collision fixes accompanied those gameplay changes.

It also fixed interactions while caught or tied up. If a tutorial depends on that behavior, it may be showing an obsolete bug rather than a useful technique. See the movement guide and rescue guide for the implications.

October 23 and the next milestone

The fourth-floor Computer Lab opened on October 23. The same update allowed item-carrying students to leave seats and expanded NPC activity after leaving seats, alongside further collision adjustments.

October 27 then announced full-release additions, including a higher player limit, more classroom themes and more configurable rooms. Those are plans for the full build, not retroactive additions to every October demo. This timeline keeps that boundary intact: a released demo update can support a current-mechanics statement; a future announcement must remain labeled as planned until the release is checked.
