Captures and Rescues
Understand documented capture and rescue changes in Worst Class Ever, including student-count rescue timing and teacher stamina, without invented interaction keys.
A capture changes more than the head count
The teacher’s objective is to catch the troublemakers, while surviving students can attempt to rescue captured classmates. The existence of rescues is explicit in the October 16 balance notes. A capture therefore changes the situation for both teams: the teacher has reduced the active opposition, and the remaining students must decide how to respond.
That does not establish a universal rescue route or guarantee that every capture can be reversed safely. Read the current on-screen state and the position of the teacher before committing another student.

Rescue time depends on the group
The October 16 update increased the time required to rescue captured students when more students are present. Its wording matters: it is a player-count balance adjustment, not a published fixed duration for every match.
If your group remembers a fast rescue from a smaller lobby, do not assume the same timing will work with more players. Plan for the interaction your current session actually presents. The announcement does not provide a seconds-by-player table, so this guide does not invent one.
What captured players should not assume
The October 21 patch fixed an issue that allowed interaction while a player was caught or tied up. Advice based on continuing ordinary interactions in that state may depend on a bug that the developer has already addressed.
If you are the captured player, pay attention to the prompts that remain available in your build and communicate the situation to teammates when possible. Do not treat an old video showing an extra interaction as proof that you should still be able to perform it.
The same patch addressed an animation-reset problem after a captured student was put down. A visual anomaly from an earlier version is not necessarily the intended capture rule.
A sensible rescue decision
Before acting, consider three things: where the teacher is, how many students remain free, and whether the person attempting the rescue understands the current interaction. Those questions help avoid turning one capture into a chain of failed attempts.
Agree on a simple plan if you are playing with friends. Someone drawing attention and someone attempting the interaction may be more coordinated than several people arriving without a shared intention. This is general team-play advice, not a tested guarantee or a claim about an undocumented aggro system.
We do not list an interaction key, cancellation threshold or automatic release condition because the official sources checked here do not establish them.
Why captures matter to the teacher
The October 21 announcement describes extra teacher stamina after each capture. That means a successful catch can affect the next pursuit, not only remove a student from immediate play. The precise amount and its limits are not published in that announcement.
For a useful match note, save the version, student count and what the interface displayed before and after the capture or rescue. That keeps observations separate from assumptions and makes a later guide update much more valuable than repeating a number with no context.
